Offline sources remain essential when online records are incomplete or contradictory. This case study shows how offline court, land, and funeral home records reconnected a man who came of age between the 1880 and 1900 censuses to his family of origin. It also resolves conflicting evidence of his two separate families, demonstrating the power of combining online discoveries with hands-on research in undigitized records.
Registration: Whether you're planning to attend online or in person at Clayton Library, please register for the meeting at HGF May Meeting. Registration is free for everyone. Jiessica's handout will be available to current HGF members in the week before the meeting. If you're not a current member, you'll need to renew or join to access the handouts.
