HGF Special Event – Screening of Relative Race
April 14 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Screening of the “Relative Race” Season 3 Premier Episode
Houston, TX 77004
Houston Genealogical Forum, Houston Public Library/Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research, and Clayton Library Friends are hosting a screening of the Season 3 premier of “Relative Race”. Relative Race is an award-winning, top-rated show from BYU TV in which contestants race across the country in search of relatives they have never met, in hopes they will reach the finish line first and win the grand prize of $50,000. Four teams are given clues and challenges along the way that lead them to people who share the same DNA. The last-place finisher at each stage of the competition receives a strike. Three strikes and that team is out. In this episode, one of the teams has to deal with the challenge of contacting their relative in Houston in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. The screening will also include a Q&A session with Houston contestants Troy and Nicole Hitt. For more information about Relative Race and access to all episodes, please see www.byutv.org/relativerace . More information about the screening at Clayton House may be found at Relative Race – Houston.
Following the screening, there will be a short presentation on DNA. Refreshments will be served. Come early as seating is limited to 60 people.
