HGF DNA Interest Group (DIG) – Using Your Ancestry DNA Results
November 18, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Ancestry DNA, part 2
Bayland Community Center
6400 Bissonnet, Houston
In our last session, we used Ancestry DNA test results with Ancestry’s analysis methods to identify DNA Matches and place them in our pedigree tree. In this session, we’ll continue reviewing Ancestry results and methods including:
- Brief review of Ancestry’s DNA analysis methods from last session
- Meaning of Ancestry “Shared Matches”
- Use of Ancestry Filters and Notes
- Ancestry DNA cases from DIG members
We’ll spend most of this session working with DIG members’ DNA test results so please plan to bring your Ancestry DNA problems with you to the meeting.
Before the meeting, you might review the Ancestry article Uncovering DNA Match Relationships which is a basic introduction to using Ancestry results in your genealogical research.
Information about the HGF DNA Interest Group (DIG), copies of the slides from the previous session, and annotated references with links to additional DNA resources are given on the HGF web page for the DNA Interest Group.
